As 2024 draws to a close, Sonio reflects on a year defined by great advancements, strategic partnerships, and significant milestones. From expanding our footprint in the U.S.A and Europe to strengthening our leadership team and product offerings, Sonio has continued to redefine the landscape of prenatal ultrasound. Here's a look back at our key highlights.

Sonio’s Expansion in the U.S.A

Commercial Launch at SMFM 2024

Our official launch in the U.S. was unveiled at SMFM 2024 (Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine) in February. This pivotal event showcased Sonio’s cutting-edge ultrasound reporting solution and emphasized our readiness to empower healthcare providers with efficient, AI-enhanced screening tools.

Join us at SMFM 2025

Beyond SMFM, Sonio expanded its global footprint at key events:

  • AIUM UltraCon: We shared insights on how AI is revolutionizing prenatal care.
  • FMF World Congress: We launched soniopedia - an educational bioinformatic tool for worldwide prenatal diagnosis experts.
  • ISUOG Congress: We launched Sonio’s ultrasound reporting solution for the European market, bringing innovative tools to the EU healthcare ecosystem.

Pediatrix Medical Group: The First of many U.S.A Customers

Pediatrix Medical Group, a leading provider specialized in women’s health, children, and babies in the U.S., was among the first to adopt Sonio’s technology. Their decision underscores a shared commitment to advancing prenatal care through innovative tools, paving the way for progress in specialized healthcare.

This collaboration highlights how AI-powered solutions can support clinicians in improving outcomes for patients. We’re excited to explore this further at SMFM, where Dr. Andrew Combs will discuss the impact of Sonio’s technology and its potential to enhance clinical practice.

Joining Forces with Samsung Healthcare

One of the most transformative moments this year was Sonio’s acquisition by Samsung Healthcare. While Sonio will continue to operate independently, this partnership allows us to combine our strengths with Samsung Healthcare’s expertise to accelerate our shared vision. Together, we are set to redefine the future of maternal-fetal medicine by delivering unparalleled diagnostic solutions. Importantly, Sonio’s platform will remain vendor-agnostic—compatible with all ultrasound systems—ensuring healthcare providers retain the freedom to choose their preferred devices while leveraging our advanced AI capabilities.

With this expansion, we’ve enhanced our capabilities by welcoming new talent and collaborating with industry-leading experts.

Innovation remains at the core of Sonio’s mission. This year, we achieve regulatory milestones and product updates:

  • Sonio Detect V2 received FDA clearance and CE marking, cementing its status as a trusted solution for prenatal anomaly detection in both the U.S. and EU.
  • Soniopedia: We introduce a comprehensive knowledge base designed to support clinicians with advanced diagnostic insights and educational resources.
  • Sonio Share: A powerful platform enabling seamless and secure collaboration between healthcare professionals, ensuring better coordination and patient outcomes.
  • In addition, we furthered our commitment to cybersecurity by achieving SOC 2 Type 2 compliance this year, following the completion of our SOC 2 Type 1 audit last year. SOC 2 compliance demonstrates our adherence to the highest standards of security and privacy.
